Get ready Western Australians! Comfort and spacious flying is coming your way when Emirates send the A380 to Perth for the first time.
Commencing 1 May 2015, Emirates will replace the Boeing 777-300ER aircraft with the superjumbo on its three daily services between Perth and Dubai.
The switch will increase capacity between the two destinations by 131 seats per flight and 1,834 per week.
The Emirates A380 is set in a three-class configuration, with 401 seats in economy class on the lower deck, 76 fully flat-bed, mini-pods in business class and 14 first class private suites on the upper deck.
Travellers in economy have spacious seating and generous luggage allowances.
Entertainment includes onboard wifi and 2,000 channels on the inflight entertainment system.
Passengers in first class are able to wash up mid-flight using the shower spas and there’s even an onboard lounge where first class and business class passengers can socialise.
The carrier’s Australian executive said the Dubai-Perth route is a popular choice amongst business and leisure travellers, which makes it an important service for Emirates.
“Australian customers are strategic to Emirates, therefore the deployment of an A380 to a fifth city in the country in association with Qantas demonstrates this further.”
Barry Brown, Emirates divisional senior vice president commercial operations east
Emirates’ Perth A380 service will operate daily as EK420 departing Dubai at 0255hrs and arriving at Perth International Airport at 1735hrs the same day.
