Virgin Australia has taken out the title as one of the most seductive workplaces in Australia – again.

The annual Randstad Awards were announced overnight, highlighting employers Australians would most like to work for.

Rankings are determined by the recruitment agency, which measures the overall attractiveness of various organisations.

Virgin is still desired by many Aussie workers.

Virgin Australia topped the list this year – the airline’s second time winning after it received the honorary nod in 2011 at the inaugural Randstad Awards.

Geraldine Chin Moody, Group Executive, People, Culture and Sustainability Virgin Australia, accepted the award on behalf of Virgin Australia.

She said people have been the key to the successful transformation of the airline and the award is a testament to their professionalism and dedication.

“Our focus is on supporting our team to actively manage their careers and develop to their full potential. Our people get opportunities to be involved in our transformational projects and build their skills internally.”

The airline beat out rival, Qantas, which was ranked at number five.

However, Qantas did win the ‘Youth Award’ making it attractive amongst younger people.

Having both airlines on the list proves the Australian aviation sector is one of the most attractive industries in the country, with some 45 percent saying they would like to work for those companies.

Other companies to make the list this year, include TV networks ABC and Seven.

Qantas was named fifth most attractive employer.

Randstad said around 12,000 Australians were surveyed and found company brand as a crucial component to recruiting new staff.

Other key factors that helped drive these companies to the top was long-term job security, competitive remuneration, strong workplace culture, job satisfaction and interesting role content.

“An employer brand is known as an organisation’s ‘billboard’, and with the modern, savvy individuals of today, having a wealth of information at their fingertips about organisations and their values, they will just take a quick look online and find a myriad of people telling stories, good and bad, about the organisations they work for.”

Randstad Australia chief executive Frank Ribuot said.

Around 12,000 Australians were surveyed to determine this year’s winners.

They were asked a series of questions about companies they had heard of, if they want to work there and why.
