Going by the cooler weather and teaser of snowfalls on the Southern Hemisphere mountains, the Sydney and Melbourne Snow Travel Expos starting this weekend couldn’t have come at a better time.
Many resorts from around the world attend the Snow Travel Expos with the province of British Columbia in Canada making up seven of those including: Whistler, Sun Peaks, Silver Star, Big White, Revelstoke, Panorama and Big Red Cats from Red Mountain.
The Australian ski market is very important to Canada which sees over 35,000 Australian skiers visit each season, with the majority to the province of British Columbia. The season runs from mid November through to early April.
Commenting on Destination British Columbia’s commitment to supporting ski out of the Australian market, Joanne Motta, Manager for Australia said, “There is a lot of choice in the worldwide ski business for Australian consumers to decide on where they want to go for their annual ski holiday.
“Some Australians ski both domestically and internationally, some go for the snow quality, the accommodation, the village or the endless additional winter attractions, and what British Columbia has going for it is that we tick all these boxes”
Joanne Motta, Manager for Australia, Destination British Columbia
“From purpose built ski-in, ski-out resorts to buzzing ski villages complimented by groomed and gladed runs, majestic scenery, heli skiing, and an array of winter activities, British Columbia serves up a ski holiday for all tastes and budgets.
“Plus with the favourable exchange rate of the Australian and Canadian dollar practically at par there is no better time to book a ski holiday to British Columbia.”
