Princess Cruises brings Curtis Stone onboard

Another celebrity chef sets sail.

Royal Caribbean has Jamie Oliver; P&O has Luke Mangan; Holland America has Mark Best; and now Princess Cruises has Curtis Stone.

The battle for the best food at sea is really heating up as Princess becomes the latest line team up with a celebrity chef.

A new partnership signed this week will see the esteemed restaurateur set up a new specialty restaurant concept and menu onboard the line’s 18-ship fleet.

The first restaurant will open in December onboard Emerald Princess as she sails from Fort Lauderdale to the Caribbean. This will be followed by Ruby Princess, Coral Princess, Sun Princess and then the rest of the fleet early next year.

He’ll also debut ‘Crafted by Curtis’ – menu items for the line’s main dining rooms – in Australia onboard Golden Princess in October. It will then roll out to the rest of the fleet by the end of 2015.

And finally, Princess and Curtis will also open a ‘Chef’s Table by Curtis Stone’ experience, which will debut across the fleet early next year.

The cruise line’s President, Jan Swartz, said bringing the chef, author and TV personality onboard is a new way to ‘delight’ guests through ‘great meals’.

Commenting on the partnership, Curtis said just the word ‘cruise’ put him in his favourite mood – “relaxed”.

“Since I travel often, I know that discovering delicious food and sharing a great meal can create some of the most memorable moments and I’ve designed my restaurants with this in mind.”
