Qantas is revolutionising the inflight magazine, by making it more timely and more accessible than ever before.
How you ask?
The airline has teamed up with Adobe to bring its Qantas Magazine app to Adobe’s Digital Publishing Solution (DPS).
By doing so, the Magazine becomes less of a magazine and more of an online publication by allowing guests to access individual articles instantly from the app homepage rather than downloading entire issues – sort of like looking at KarryOn’s homepage and selecting a story you want to read.
Formerly, guests could access the Qantas Magazine app via the iPad but it was only updated once a month. This gave travellers no reason to access or interact with the publication after the initial read.
With the new system, Qantas is also able to update content throughout the month – giving guests fresh news and information while on-the-go or at home.
But that’s not all, users can also save content they need for their travels – such as the Singapore City Guide
Qantas Head of Digital and Entertainment, Jo Boundy, said the Adobe DPS allows the airline to be more nimble and timely in the delivery of news and travel inspiration to customers.

The Qantas Magazine app is free and available on iPad and iPhone from the App Store. An Android and version will follow shortly.
In conjunction with the new look Qantas Magazine, Qantas Travel Insider website has also been relaunched together with a dedicated Travel Insider Instagram account featuring travel inspiration, travel photography and news.
