Amadeus gets ALL of Air Canada

Good news for Amadeus customers - the company has just signed a new multi-year distribution agreement with Air Canada that will give GDS users access to all of the airline's products.

Good news for Amadeus customers – the company has just signed a new multi-year distribution agreement with Air Canada that will give GDS users access to all of the airline’s products.

Signed this morning, the agreement will offer agents access to all fares and seat availability as well as merchandising content through programs such as Amadeus Fare Families and Amadeus Ancillary Services.

It doesn’t stop there. The full agreement will see the companies work together to leverage existing features of the Amadeus point-of-sale retailing platform, as well as new cutting-edge features under development. This will offer Amadeus subscribers access to rich content related to Air Canada fare products.

Other perks of the agreement include giving Air Canada the ability to swiftly respond to the evolving marketplace and Amadeus subscribers the ability to access full range of content including those available through the carrier’s internal reservations system.

Air Canada’s Vice President Global Sales, Duncan Bureau, said the win-win agreement will also broaden the carrier’s distribution capabilities around the globe.

Amadeus’ Senior Vice President of Distribution at Amadeus said the tech company is excited to help in Air Canada’s distribution strategy and ambitious growth plans.

Amadeus will bring its leading merchandising capabilities and connect to Air Canada’s interface via XML, enabling complete access to the airline’s products.

Through seamless integration, Amadeus subscribers will continue to benefit from efficiency and transparency offered by the GDS. This global agreement will allow the partners to pursue their business objectives, evolve the distribution landscape, and support international network expansion, all while allowing customers to make well-informed air-purchase decisions.
