This year’s International Women’s Day global campaign – #BalanceforBetter – calls for a balanced world, equaling a better workplace. The world is now expecting gender-balance and we all have an equal part to play to ensure that we do our part.

Aiming to break tradition and pave the way for female empowerment, 70 percent of Insight Vacations and Luxury Gold’s overall workforce across the world is female while 64 percent hold leadership positions.

In celebration of International Women’s Day this year, we’re showing our support by further raising awareness on the need to achieve a gender-balanced world.

According to the Gender Responsible Tourism organisation and 2018 statistics around women in tourism, in most regions around the world, 55 percent of women make up the majority of the tourism workforce.

Regardless, statistics continue to show women have a prominent role to play not just in the tourism industry but in the workforce as a whole and this shows that we are all an important vehicle in driving women’s empowerment.

At Insight Vacations and Luxury Gold, global leaders in premium and luxury escorted journeys, we know gender-balance results in a better world and workplace. With many women in leadership roles, management positions, Travel Directors and Travelling Concierges leading our journeys. We celebrate women on a daily basis and ensure equality at the various levels on our organisation with many involved in decision-making.

We all need to strive for a workplace where everyone has a voice, a foundation for growth and the freedom to develop individual career paths.

In addition, we aim to empower women globally in local communities, in partnership with our not-for profit foundation, TreadRight, and our 50 sustainability projects. Of note, Insight Cares recently supported TreadRight with our newest project, the Iraq al-Amir Women’s Cooperative. The cooperative, which is managed and run by local women, has provided training projects for more than 150 women from all villages of Wadi Seer on a variety of handicrafts to help preserve local heritage.

This #IWD2019, we’re showing our commitment to female economic empowerment by continuing to support and celebrate women all around the world.

With 57 percent of our travellers being women, they are at the core of everything we do. We embrace and celebrate our female travellers, as without their support, we know our business couldn’t thrive. It’s important to remain committed to supporting women at various levels within any organisation, to continue making a positive impact on women’s lives worldwide
