1000 Mile Travel Group attends first Virtuoso Week ahead of US launch

Australian and UK-based "work from anywhere" corporate host agency 1000 Mile Travel Group attended their first ever Virtuoso Travel Week in Las Vegas last week.

Australian and UK-based “work from anywhere” corporate host agency 1000 Mile Travel Group attended their first ever Virtuoso Travel Week in Las Vegas last week.

After being acquired by CTM (Corporate Travel Management) on the 1st of July 2022, founders of the group Ben Ross & Nicola Veltman are fulfilling their founding vision by taking 1000MTG to the states.

Not only this, but 1000 Mile Travel Group are also taking over the leisure-focused host agency MTravel (previously known as Montrose Travel), an independent contractor division of CTMs.

Veltman spent six full days at the annual Virtuoso Travel Week event held at The Bellagio, meeting with her North American head office team, who will report directly to Veltman and Ross, the group’s business owners and partners and suppliers.

This saw Veltman meet with partners from Celebrity, who co-hosted an MTravel event in the Bellagio Suites, to a private owner/manager dinner with NCL at Scarpetta in Aria, meeting with GM and Account Director Fiona Dalton and Michelle Dunning.

Veltman also had a private meeting with the founder and owner of Virtuoso Matthew Upchurch and his global leadership team to discuss the future strategy and relationship of the two groups.

Speaking exclusively to Karryon, Veltman said, “what we have been able to achieve in 6 days at Virtuoso would take months if not longer to create in the outside world”.

“If you are serious about luxury travel this is a must-attend event to have on your calendar every year”.

Veltman continued, “My biggest takeaways are the relationships created and built upon. 1000MTG success is underpinned by long-lasting relationships and we look forward to deepening the ones made in the last week”.

Veltman and Ross, with their young family, are relocating to Denver, Colorado, in the coming weeks to expand their global footprint and become the first independent contractor model of its kind to have a presence in Australia, the UK and the US.

The ambitious pair say they have a big vision over the next three years to grow the network to 2000 new ICs “whilst ensuring the company culture remains quality, not quantity”. said Veltman.
