Six lucky Australian travel advisors recently jetted off for a six-night, all-inclusive Austria famil, including visiting Salzburg, the Salzkammergut region and Innsbruck, as winners of the Austria Resource Hub promotion.
Hosted by the Austrian National Tourist Office (ANTO), six Aussie advisors explored the country and its magical Christmas Markets from 23–29 November 2022.
The participants who experienced the winter wonderland were: Maxine Barron (FBI Travel), Mandy Patterson (MTA), Karen Robinson (MTA), Rose Febo (TravelManagers), Vikki Southern (TravelManagers) and Maddie Williams (RACT Travel).
Festive famil fun
Starting in Salzburg, the group stayed in premium accommodation at Hotel Sacher Salzburg and Hotel Goldener Hirsch and tuned into the musical legacy of Mozart and the von Trapp Family – complete with Sound of Music singing.
In the Wolfgangsee region, snowshoeing, a ride on Austria’s steepest cog railway and the Wolfgangseer Advent market were all on the agenda.
In Innsbruck, the advisors experienced both sides of the Capital of the Alps: the Imperial elegance and alpine lifestyle.
Wandering through the Imperial Palace of the Habsburg monarchs in the morning and going behind the scenes at the Bergisel Ski Jump in the afternoon is only possible in Innsbruck.
In all three Austrian destinations, the group enjoyed Christmas Markets and seasonal cheer with many mulled wines and hot fruit punches consumed.
