AFTA: More round two Consumer Travel Support payments good to go

The next payment phase of the COVID-19 Consumer Travel Support Program is finally here, with The Australian Federation of Travel Agents (AFTA) welcoming the announcement that will see more money hitting accounts from next Monday.

The next payment phase of the COVID-19 Consumer Travel Support Program is finally here, with The Australian Federation of Travel Agents (AFTA) welcoming the announcement that will see more money hitting accounts from next Monday.

The Australian Federation of Travel Agents (AFTA) says it has welcomed Austrade’s progress in updating its COVID-19 Consumer Travel Support Program and Round 2 verification process.

As such, payments are expected to start from next Monday for those with over $500,000 in annual turnover.

AFTA says it been working closely with Austrade, in collaboration with CATO and ATEC, to simplify the verification process for Round 2.

“We are pleased to share that the verification process for those applicants with a turnover over $500,000 has now been finalised. We are pleased that Austrade has listened to industry and simplified this process from the initial proposal,” said Tom Manwaring, AFTA Chair.

According to AFTA, Austrade has indicated that applicants should hear from them this week and that payments are scheduled to start flowing from next Monday, 14th June 2021.
