ANZCRO celebrates its pearl anniversary as travel trade specialists across the Tasman Sea.
The Australian and New Zealand travel company, ANZCRO, is commemorating its 30th anniversary with the launch of a special edition of its New Zealand Travel Book.
The ANZCRO New Zealand Book is a travel guide specifically for planning trips throughout Aotearoa and is known as the “NZ Bible” in the trade industry.
ANZCRO CEO and Managing Director Nick Guthrey reflects on the company’s journey during this time.
“When we started three decades ago, we were the only wholesaler in Australia selling a full range of New Zealand FIT products—everything from accommodation to car hire to rail journeys, guided walks, and sightseeing,” explains Nick Guthrey, ANZCRO CEO and Managing Director.
“The NZ Book became our most important vehicle for showcasing the breadth of our product to travel agents throughout Australia.”
The company’s brochure, which initially started as a small 15-page A5 booklet, has now expanded into a comprehensive 140-page A4 brochure. The brochure has been divided into regions and includes a large pullout map at the back.
Guthrey added: “We highlight about 400 of our most popular products and suppliers, which these days doesn’t scratch the surface of the 40,000 plus NZ products we sell.”
The cover of the 30th edition of the New Zealand Book features a Maori Pounamu Carving.
“We intentionally chose this image because we wanted to celebrate our friendship and gratitude for our valued Travel Agents, suppliers and colleagues that have supported us over the past 30 years,” Guthrey said.
ANZCRO is introducing a dedicated section for self-guided rail tours in 2024, including four popular packages.

ANZCRO’s Head of Product Louise Bilbie said: “Rail holidays in New Zealand have been booming for the past two years, particularly self-guided tours.”
Train travel is featured as one of the travel company’s most popular products with interest in slow travel within the New Zealand market.
“It’s a wonderful way to add a touch of luxury to a standard rail holiday,” Bilbie said.
