The Australian Travel Industry Association (ATIA) has teamed up with 19 leading companies across sectors nationwide in a campaign to advocate for pro-business policies in the leadup to the May 2025 Federal Election.
The joint campaign, steered by Business Council of Australia (BCA), launched today with full-page ads in major newspapers calling on all political parties for more business support.
ATIA CEO Dean Long will represent the Australian travel sector at a national media conference in Canberra, reinforcing the industry’s place in key economic and policy discussions.

This campaign ensures the voice of travel businesses is front and centre as national economic priorities are being shaped.
It complements the association’s recently launched Member Campaign Portal, which empowers its network of more than 1,120 accredited businesses to engage directly with MPs in their electorates and advocate for pro-travel policies during the election period.

Long said the initiative underscores ATIA’s growing influence and credibility as a national business advocate.
“Our members, Australia’s travel agents, tour operators and wholesalers, booked over $30 billion in travel services last year alone,” he said.

“With 92 per cent of our members being small businesses and 72 per cent of our workforce made up of women, reducing regulatory burdens is critical to maintaining a strong, competitive and inclusive industry.
“We’re proud to stand with other peak bodies in calling for smarter regulation that supports growth and lets businesses focus on delivering for Australians.”
