The atmosphere was electric. The tension – palpable. So, who were the two lucky travel advisors who went straight from the Brisbane Airport Show & Go Air Canada event to Vancouver?
Last night, Brisbane Airport hosted more than 60 travel agents, partners and their suitcases along to the return of its Show & Go events.
Advisors heard the latest updates from Brisbane Airport, Air Canada, Destination Vancouver and Pullman Brisbane Airport while enjoying Canadian-inspired cocktails and cuisine – poutine and a Spicy Maple Canadian, anyone?
Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) SVP & Head of Aviation Marketing & Partnerships Oliver Philpot said they were excited to bring back the Show & Go concept and that the event marked the first opportunity for the airport to build a relationship with the travel trade.
The highlight of the evening was the drawing of two travel advisors’ names to be on the next Air Canada flight to Vancouver.
Attendees needed to have their passports, Canadian eTA visa, insurance and a suitcase packed to be eligible to go.
And the winning advisors are Tanya Plimmer from Travel Centre and Wijayaayu Maclean from WM Travel & Tours – both first-time visitors to Canada!
Tanya actually had to pass up a trip to Canada when she was pregnant with her now 22-year-old daughter, so she was ecstatic to win this prize.
The winners stayed overnight at the award-winning Pullman Brisbane Airport with breakfast in Apron Restaurant to ready them for their AC36 flight to Vancouver at 9:45am (AEST) today.
In Canada, they’ll enjoy two nights at Metropolitan Hotel Vancouver and two nights at Pan Pacific Vancouver Hotel and receive a Destination Vancouver Experience Pass to check out all the sights.
Show & Go attendees who complete the Air Canada GSU learning modules by 31 March 2023 will also go in a draw to win a $100 voucher. Globite also gifted some Aussie-designed luggage as lucky door prizes to three attendees.

Air Canada will increase the frequency of its BNE-YVR route to daily from June 2023.
The carrier also revealed that BNE would receive the bigger B777-300ER aircraft in December, increasing seat capacity to more than its SYD-YVR service.
BAC’s Show & Go program began in 2017 and has staged nine events for the travel trade with upcoming events to be produced quarterly.
