Board names: Meet CATO’s newly elected board members

The Council of Australian Tour Operators (CATO) has revealed its latest board lineup with four newly elected members, including two returning leaders and two brand-new electees.

The Council of Australian Tour Operators (CATO) has revealed its latest board lineup with four newly elected members, including two returning leaders and two brand-new electees.

After member voting closed on Friday, CATO announced at yesterday’s AGM that four industry leaders out of the six nominees will commence two-year terms.

James O’Donnell (The Travel Corporation Australia) and Julie King (Julie King & Associates and Bonailie) were re-elected to the board along with new members Martin Edwards (The Explorer Society) and Yvette Thompson (Intrepid Travel Group).

Alongside recently re-elected Chair Dennis Bunnik (Bunnik Tours), returning board members include Vice-Chair Lisa Pagotto (Crooked Compass), Liz Anderson (Sundowners Overland), Brad McDonnell (Entire Travel Group), Aaron Zoanetti (Pointon Partners Lawyers) and Sean Martin (G Adventures).

CATO Managing Director Brett Jardine said: “We would like to take this opportunity to also acknowledge candidates who were not successful on this occasion: Chad Carey, Managing Director of Chimu Adventures and Ingrid Berthelsen, Joint CEO of Evolution Travel Collective.”

“We are truly delighted to witness such a strong interest from our membership to participate in the CATO Board – a testament to its outstanding credibility and accomplishments.
