They came, they connected, they conquered! The recent Aussie leg of 1000 Mile Travel Group’s global roadshow brought some of our best travel advisors together in travel!
The co-founder and CEO of 1000MTG, the global network of independent travel advisors, Nicola Veltman joined Chief Operating Officer, Craig Constable, and General Manager for the Australian business, Lauren Gray as the roadshow hit Aussie shores.
The trio visited Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
“By bringing together like-minded professionals, we are able to share and learn from our collective expertise,” Veltman said.
Bringing productivity back
The roadshow’s goal? To introduce and collaborate on the efficiencies the network is rolling out this year.
And the end game is “to help our advisors get anywhere from 10-30% productivity back in their day, and ultimately build stronger and more sustainable businesses”, Veltman said.
“1000MTG is experiencing a powerful evolution.”
“Travel advisors are elevating their businesses to the next level,” she said.
According to Veltman, advisors are supported by training. They are also “propelled by our propriety technology and platforms which stand at the forefront of travel technology.”

Building bridges
Advisors were able to connect with each other, as well as engage with partners in the luxury hotel space. From the Capella Hotel in Sydney, to the Royce Hotel in Melbourne, and Crystalbrook Vincent in Brisbane, attendees got valuable insights and education about luxury travel trends and offerings.
“We understand the value of our partnerships,” General Manager Lauren Gray said.
These matter not just to the network of independent advisors but also to their clients, she added.
“We can’t wait to bring this newfound knowledge and exposure to our network and support our partners in the luxury and corporate space as we continue to grow together.”
Together in travel
Connecting with travel agents, meeting key partners, and learning from local travel experts has been invaluable, the 1000MTG bosses said.

They said face-to-face events like the roadshow are “imperative to our travel advisor’s success”. They are “ingrained in the 1000 Mile Travel Group culture where business partnerships and life-long friendships are born”.
“While 1000 Mile Travel Group travel advisors can work from anywhere, the strong like-minded network of peers and head office support means they never feel like they are working alone.
“This ethos will continue to be part of the backbone of our organisation as we grow.”
Veltman said “the backbone of 1000 Mile Travel Group success lies in the relationships fostered with its partners and advisors who become more like friends than colleagues.”
The 1000 Mile Travel Group team will continue its strong focus on learning and development for travel advisors. It plans to hold more face-to-face events over the next 12 months. These will include professional development days and the much-anticipated second global conference in Los Cabos, Mexico in February 2024.
