When starting up Rediscover Travel, Chris Watson’s plan was always to be travel agent focused. He wanted to create a wholesaler that was “by Agents, for Agents”, he said. And now he’s joined forces with “other successful and likeminded professionals” so the company can better achieve that goal.
Andrew Minto from Home & Afar Travel, Lauren Howard from How We Travel and Narelle Cook from Next Travels will join founder Chris Watson and recently appointed GM, Walter Nand, as Rediscover Travel enters its next phase.
“It’s four powerhouse businesses coming together to give agents options and support,” said Watson.
“That is our goal.”
According to new director, Andrew Minto, the Rediscover Travel team plans to “shake up the industry and help other agents just like us”.
The team says it plans to highlight gaps in the market and areas of frustration.
“Rediscover will research these challenges and find solutions that will then be rolled out to the greater travel agency/advisor community.”
While all the directors will continue to operate their individual retail travel agency businesses, they will also provide invaluable insights and experience to Rediscover Travel.
“Watch this space,” said Watson.
“There will be more products and more destinations coming soon.”
Rediscover Travel recently announced the purchase and merger of Unique Cruises.
