Just announced: Aotearoa New Zealand’s biggest tourism trade show TRENZ will hold its 2024 event in Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington at the Tākina Wellington Conference & Exhibition Centre on 8–10 May.
Staged in Ōtautahi Christchurch this year, TRENZ brings hundreds of international travel buyers, sellers and media delegates together in Aotearoa to meet with New Zealand’s leading tourism operators.
More than 1,500 people attend the annual event, experiencing local accommodation providers and tourism attractions with many spending extended time in the region.

TRENZ 2023 saw the first full-program, in-person show staged since 2019 without any pandemic-era restrictions.
The updated 2024 format will allow more time to explore and discover the capital before and after business meetings.

Tourism Industry Aotearoa (TIA) CEO Rebecca Ingram said: “TRENZ was back with a bang in May and it’s safe to say the event is rapidly evolving and innovating.”
“As a passionate Wellingtonian, I’m especially excited to be bringing TRENZ to the capital city for the very first time.”
Wellington Mayor Tory Whanau said it is fantastic for Wellington to host TRENZ.
“We can’t wait to welcome domestic and international manuhiri to Te Whanganui-a-Tara and for them to experience firsthand all that New Zealand’s capital city has to offer,” Ms Whanau said.

“Wellington is known for its vibrant culture and iconic events. We’re looking forward to sharing our city, Tākina and the manaakitanga of our people.”
WellingtonNZ CEO John Allen agreed: “We’re delighted to partner with TIA. Te Papa, Wellington Airport, Interislander, Wētā Workshop and many hoteliers were instrumental to secure TRENZ, reflecting the spirit of collaboration Wellington is renowned for.”
