Imagine if Marvel were creating a new superhero. The comic book geniuses would think of a superpower (we’d choose teleportation). They’d ponder their backstory and how they’ll help humanity. They’d design a costume and brainstorm a cool name.

Sweet.

But it’s 2024. Average no longer cuts it. The norm is the yawn. They need something extra; some added finesse.

The superhero in your travel wallet

Cash Passport is the sleek superhero every traveller needs when they head overseas. Its superpower? Helping Aussies abroad spend their money and swoop in like Spiderman when their card is lost or stolen. They re-rail derailed holiday plans back on track with their mighty power.

And unlike most superheroes, the Cash Passport crew never sleep. Well, they do, but they take turns so your clients can access 24/7 support should the worst happen on their holiday.

The rewards upgrade travellers need

Forward-thinking and innovative, Cash Passport always look for ways to add value. They go above and beyond simply replacing riskier currency options like cash and traveller’s cheques (yes, you can still get those, who knew?).

With Mastercard Travel Rewards (MTR), they’re making it clear they know it’s 2024 and are prepared to bring it. And by it, we mean perks everyone will love.

Beyond the safety and peace of mind travellers get with Cash Passport, they can get cashback now, too! And is instant and effortless.

Like, legit effortless. With 90% of the offers automated and the other 10% an easy one-click add-on, shopping with one of the MTR reward partners is the kind of gift one rarely gets. Your clients could even unknowingly shop with an MTR partner (in the 90%) and still get the rewards!

Splurge-worthy reward partners currently include the famous Bloomingdale’s in the US, glam Harvey Nichols in the UK, or at the 200+ stores in Singapore’s Raffles Mall.

There are also rewards at duty-free stores, juice bars, food outlets, transportation (even Italian trains), tours, and so much more. In fact, there are currently over 400 MTR partners!

How to get Mastercard Travel Rewards cashback

First up, it pays to take some time to check out the current MTR offers here. While most are automatic, some need Cash Passport cardholders to select ‘add to card’ or to shop using the link provided in the site. There’s even an option to ‘add all to card’, which is handy.

Next, the cardholder will tap to pay with their Cash Passport card. They’ll automatically receive the relevant cashback.

Yup, that’s it. Too easy.

MTR rewards are valid for Cash Passport cardholders until the end of 2024.

Do you forget Iron Man when you think of famous superheroes? No way!

Do you remember how Iron Man became a superhero? Erm… probably not. Sometimes it’s good to go over the finer details.

Here’s why travelling with Cash Passport (every traveller’s Iron Man) makes sense:

  1. When in trouble overseas, Cash Passport is on hand 24/7 to assist. Whether that’s coordinating a replacement card ASAP or organising access to emergency cash, there’s help on hand. Unlike Batman where you need to blast a big logo into the sky, with Cash Passport, it’s as simple as dialling a free phone number in location~.
  1. Travelling with Cash Passport keeps all funds safe. Not just the cash your clients would have once traded with a dodgy streetside money changer, but their bank accounts, too. With zero connection between Cash Passport and at-home banks, there’s no risk of fraudulent transactions on everyday banking accounts.
  1. Everywhere Mastercard is accepted, Cash Passport is, too. For both online and in-store transactions, there are millions of places ready to help your clients spend their travel savings+.
  1. Cash Passport even helps them accrue those travel savings. Because cardholders can load money regularly and easily*, it keeps holiday funds separate from their regular bank accounts. Unlike those clear travel fund boxes they sell in Typo, Cash Passport is out of sight, out of mind. The more it’s tucked away, the less likely to be ‘oopsie’ spent before reaching Bali/Kenya/Albania/wherever.
  1. There are other savings, too, because Cash Passport has zero foreign transaction fees and no reloading fees^.
  1. Remember the fear of using foreign ATMs back in the day? Fear no more, with Cash Passport, accessing funds via ATMs overseas is simple.
  1. Another innovative more recent perk: Cash Passport cardholders may also qualify for complimentary lounge access if their flights are delayed for more than 2 hours, with Mastercard Flight Delay Pass#.
