The Council of Australia Tour Operators will support the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA) at the CATO 2025 Christmas Lunch in Sydney on 4 December as Managing Director Brett Jardine reveals his own personal prostate cancer battle.
CATO’s annual Christmas Lunch event will see the travel industry rally for a cause that’s close to the organisation’s leadership and membership base.
Jardine’s diagnosis highlights the fact that prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australia, affecting thousands of men and their families every year.

By partnering with PCFA at the popular end-of-year event, CATO aims to raise awareness and contribute to vital research, early detection initiatives and national support services.
Funds raised at the long lunch event will go directly to PCFA. Tour operators are also invited to contribute to the cause through sponsorship opportunities.

CATO Chair Dennis Bunnik said: “CATO’s annual Christmas Lunch is about more than coming together as an industry – it’s also about making a difference.”
“By supporting PCFA, we’re helping to shine a light on an issue that touches so many Australian families and backing the life-changing work that PCFA undertakes.”

The CATO 2025 Christmas Lunch theme is ‘Merry & Bright’ and will bring together Australian tour operators, wholesalers, travel advisors, tourism boards and travel industry media to celebrate the holiday season.
The CATO 2025 Christmas Lunch will be held at the Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park on Thursday, 4 December from 11:30am to 3:30pm.
Tickets are now on sale for individual attendees at $195 and $1,950 for a table of 10.
