In response to the rising risk of identity theft and digital fraud in the travel sector, the Council of Australian Tour Operators (CATO) has a new cybersecurity education series designed to arm members with the necessary information to address these challenges.

The new initiative, in collaboration with its Platinum Partner 4walls Cyber Advisory, kicks off with a members-only webinar, ‘Digital Security for the Travel Industry: Preventing Identity Theft’, on 5 March 2024 at 10:30am AEDT.

It’s designed for tour operators and wholesalers looking to strengthen their defence against digital fraud and identity theft and ensure the security of clients’ sensitive information.

Led by 4walls, the webinar and Q&A session will provide tourism businesses with essential strategies to fortify their digital defences against identity theft.

These include understanding the risks and methods used by cybercriminals targeting tourism businesses and the available tools and technologies to safeguard against cyber threats.

“We are delighted to provide our members with a comprehensive educational opportunity that addresses the unique cybersecurity risks prevalent in the travel industry,” he said.

CATO members will receive a link to register for the event soon.
