CLIA’s Cruise Month sails into September before summer cruise season

Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) Australasia is embarking on a month-long celebration of the revival of cruising in Australia and New Zealand in the lead-up to the jam-packed summer cruise season.

Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) Australasia is embarking on a month-long celebration of the revival of cruising in Australia and New Zealand in the lead-up to the jam-packed summer cruise season.

Under the new theme #LoveCruise, the Cruise Month initiative runs throughout September to unite the Australasian cruise community with promotions and marketing campaigns designed to incite the renewed passion of cruise travellers.

It will be the first Cruise Month held since 2019 and will have four weekly themes: Ocean Cruising (4 –10 September), River Cruising (11 – 17 September), Expedition Cruising (18 – 24 September) and Luxury Cruising (25 September – 1 October).

CLIA travel advisor members will receive regular Cruise Month promotional offers by email to mount #LoveCruise marketing campaigns inviting travellers to explore new cruise holiday ideas.

The campaign will also be supported by dedicated Cruise Month features in newspapers’ travel pages and social media campaigns on Facebook and LinkedIn.

Cruise Month follows the successful staging of the Cruise360 conference and trade show in August.

CLIA Managing Director Australasia Joel Katz said: “The return of cruising to our region has reignited the passion of Australian and New Zealand travellers, so September will be an ideal time to capitalise on renewed demand for cruise holidays.”

“Public sentiment around cruising is now at levels even higher than before the pandemic, so September’s Cruise Month initiative will focus on channelling this interest towards our CLIA member travel agents.”

To access the new Cruise Month toolkit and other resources, CLIA advisors can log into the CLIA Members Hub.
