From giving back to local communities to creating incredible tours and small group journeys for like-minded travellers, Collette is calling for a can-do team player. You’ll join their value-oriented crew as Business Development Manager. Day-to-day, you’ll promote Collette across the Victoria territory and Tasmania.

In your role as Business Development Manager, you’ll be responsible for selling guided travel and identifying growth areas across Victoria and Tasmania. You’ll also be in charge of opening new accounts and developing long-term relationships with guests and travel professionals. 

As you travel across The Garden State and Apple Isle, you’ll promote all the benefits of Collette. From their ‘we get you’ travel experiences to people-first brand values, you’ll represent Collette to travellers and travel industry professionals.

As a confident and dynamic leader, you’ll actively support partner marketing efforts and will be comfortable presenting to potential travellers on a daily basis.

Along with maintaining existing account relationships, your can-do attitude will help you solicit new ones, allowing you to not only meet revenue goals, but smash them. Working in alignment with the organisation’s strategic priorities will be an additional driver in how you approach this exciting role.

Here’s what you’ll need to apply:

  • Ideally reside in Melbourne or nearby suburbs
  • Three to five years’ experience
  • Ability to travel overnight – up to 5+ nights a month and to domestic and international sales tripes
  • History of competitive success in business, academics, or athletics
  • Strong relationship building and negotiation skills
  • Well-developed oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Proactive, positive, and professional approach and demeanour
  • Desire to continually improve your selling abilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Passion for networking in person, via phone, e-mail, and social media
  • Willingness to benefit from hands-on coaching

Your responsibilities will include:

  • To promote, canvas, and produce Collette sales to travel professionals in VIC and TAS while achieving and exceeding sales goals
  • The ability to close the sale through strong relationship and negotiation skills
  • Solicit new and existing accounts to meet and exceed revenue goals through telephone prospecting, outside sales calls, community engagement and relationship building
  • Research local travel market and develops new marketing plans
  • Identify potential growth areas through prospecting new and existing customers to maintain and develop new accounts and deliver information regarding product
  • Partner with various departments throughout Collette to coordinate the processing of account details
  • Distribute brochures and itineraries describing Collette to clients travelling on tour packages or to travel agents arranging for clients
  • Attend international/domestic sales meetings, product seminars, and trade shows and is an active participant in the learning opportunities
