Score a place on one of the most fun famils going with Qantas as you travel around the US to win daily prizes!

Famils are a great way to learn about a destination but they can also get a bit formulaic and they can sometimes forget that travel is supposed to be about having a good time! Well a new trip to Los Angeles and San Francisco is adding daily prizes and competitions to the mix to make sure it is a memorable trip.

Qantas is giving 15 agents a chance to win a trip to LAX and SFO, where they will compete for spot prizes, all the while learning as much as they can about two of America’s most vibrant cities. Get to know Los Angeles, explore the windy streets of San Fran and break the ice with your fellow agents via some fun and games.

WING IT TO THE CITY OF ANGELS

Los Angeles is best known as the home of Hollywood where you can spend your nights tracking down some old-school Hollywood bars, see a movie at the famous Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, or have dinner in power restaurants like Musso and Frank Grill, where movie deals have been made for decades.

During the day hit the beach at Santa Monica or join the crowds hanging out at Venice Beach.

THE FUN CAPITAL OF THE US

LA is also the gateway to the Disneyland, the start of a scenic coastal drive to Bug Sur or a trip to Joshua Tree National Park. You can explore the rugged Californian coast, head inland to the mid-century cool of Palm Springs or simply hang out with the stars in Beverly Hills – star spotting is almost guaranteed but to increase your chances grab a drink at the bar of the legendary Chateau Marmont hotel.

Qantas flies to LAX seven times a week from Sydney, daily from Melbourne on the A380 and twice a week on the new Dreamliner – and from Brisbane the Dreamliner service will launch from September 1 (currently it’s daily 747s).

VISIT THE HOME OF THE GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE

The Californian city of San Francisco is best known for the orange arches of the Golden Gate, the famous prison island of Alcatraz and cable cars towing visitors up the hilly San Fran streets.

But you can also take the family to The Presidio, a former army post (and movie of the same name) that has been turned into a national park with incredible views of the bay or see the modern art at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

GATEWAY TO NATURAL BEAUTY

Yosemite Falls 600

San Francisco is the step-off point to see California’s wild beauty. You can take a drive through the wineries of the Napa Valley, see the soaring mountains of Yosemite National Park or walk amongst the world’s tallest trees in Sequoia National Forest.

Qantas flies to SFO from Sydney six times a week on the A380 and soon from Melbourne four times a week on the new Dreamliner (starting 1 September 2018).

The new Qantas Dreamliner is rolling out on the LAX and SFO routes making for a more modern and comfortable trip to the States. The Dreamliner is the most advanced long-haul aircraft in the Qantas fleet with more space between seats, killer views from the huge Dreamliner windows (65% larger than normal windows), and key design elements from Australian designer Marc Newsom.
