The head of the world’s biggest cruise company stopped by Sydney on a recent trip, but even he couldn’t visit the city without taking in its sites.

Carnival Corporation chief executive Arnold Donald arrived Down Under last week for a series of meetings.

However, he took time between meetings to see some of the city’s most iconic sites, including the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge.

Mr Donald was accompanied by Carnival Australia chief executive Ann Sherry and Holland America Group chief executive Stein Kruse (see featured image above).

Mr Donald made the Sydney call on his return to Miami, following a visit to Beijing, where possible joint ventures are being explored given the great potential for growth in China.

Earlier this month, one of Carnival’s cruise lines, Carnival Cruise Line announced it will add new adventures for its younger cruisers – a marine-themed kids club will be added to Carnival Spirit that will replace Camp Ocean.

The new larger kids’ club area will be splashed out with bright blue ocean hues.

The childrens’ space will be added during refurbishments in August.

Camp Ocean gives little cruisers the chance to immerse themselves in all the fun of the big blue sea, with more than 200 educational and engaging ocean-themed activities such as sea salt art, sea shell craft, ocean bingo, and make-your-own sail boats.

Designed for children aged 2-11, Camp Ocean will feature three age-related areas including a new Penguin colony for two to five-year-olds and a Sting Ray camp for six to eight-year-olds, while nine to 11-year-olds will be able to sink their teeth into their new Shark enclosure.

Also new to the ship in August this year will be the addition of a burger bar, Mexican restaurant – BlueIguana Cantina and an interactive EA Sports Bar.
