What happens in Thailand (like a Top Gun tuk tuk safari) … hopefully builds stronger business ties back home.
Over 75 CT Partners members attended the annual CT Partners Annual Member Meeting at the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok last week.
Over three days members were updated by a record number of supplier partners, took part in interactive workshops and discussed hot button topics such as sustainability, NDC and cruising.

The theme of the meeting, after years of social distancing and closed borders, was ‘Connected Community’ and CT Partners CEO Matt Masson emphasised the value of having this as unique selling proposition “particularly post-Covid”.

Masson said the meeting succeeded in “providing multiple learning opportunities and facilitating collaboration between supplier partners and industry peers on how we can best work together to achieve common goals.”

According to CT Partners, members “continue to outperform the wider market”. Supplier partners agreed, claiming CT Partners are up in terms of production for Q1 FY23 despite capacity constraints.
But it wasn’t all panel discussions and workshops, a Top Gun themed tuk-tuk safari through Bangkok brought out delegates’ competitive side and included visits to Jim Thompson’s House, markets and a cooking challenge, plus cocktails and massages at Baan Dusit Thani, and rooftop drinks at Siam@Siam bar.

Changing guard
Barry Mayo, who acted as interim chair for three years was given a moving send off before being replaced by Reed & Mackay Managing Director Australia David Greenland.
Greenland is CT Partners’ new non-executive chair.
It was also announced that the network’s board will increase to seven directors, with progress made “towards broader representation for members … in terms of gender diversity and the type of businesses occupying seats”.

The newly appointed directors are Anna McMurtrie – Wentworth Travel, Peter Muller – ATPI, Joe Araullo – Travel Managers and Shane Barr – TAG. They join current board members Fiona Prosser – Globetrotter Travel, Michael Chase-Smith and Mark Chaskiel – FBI Travel.
“The opportunity to see each other once more at the iconic Mandarin Oriental Bangkok was so rewarding, and I look forward to seeing more success over the next 12 months as we put the strategies and ideas we discussed into practice for our Members, their businesses and clients,” Masson said.
