“Don't just stay in your bubble”: itravel boss on unlocking triple-digit growth and avoiding complacency

Over 100 itravel agents met in Sydney yesterday (14 September) for a full day of learning and connecting with industry suppliers. 

While there, Karryon got the lowdown from itravel CEO Steve Labroski on how the company has been travelling.

“Our network has increased by 30% with the majority through referrals and word of mouth,” Labroski told Karryon

According to Labroski, the company is seeing triple-digit growth and he doesn’t think at this stage it’s going to slow down. 

“Over the last six months we pretty much had another 15 new members and that’s only the beginning with a few more on the way,” he said.  

“We’re signing up someone every week which is crazy. It’s the biggest growth in our history.”

But it’s not all about the numbers. While LUXE by itravel launched as a Virtuoso member this year, the company’s push into the luxury space has been “a bit slower” and more considered. 

“We are invite-only,” Labroski said. 

“We are looking for the right individuals that fit into the world of Virtuoso and LUXE by itravel. 

“So it’s not trying to add numbers. It’s about the right individuals that will fit into that world which gives the brand insane credibility as well.” 

Not time to be complacent

According to Labroski, “It’s never been as good as it is today”. But that doesn’t mean itravel is going to rest on its success. 

“There are opportunities for people to get better at what they’re doing. All they have to do is look and speak to a few different people.”

“I do feel the industry is complacent. Agents tend to stay in their comfort zone even if they are not entirely happy.

“Don’t just stay in your bubble, be curious and have a look at the options out there.  You will be surprised.

“I think the opportunities are endless.”
