The Australian Government’s new, free eeger platform collates job vacancies, training programs and career development opportunities in the travel, tourism and hospitality industry into one national site for the first time.

The Australian visitor economy contributed $214 billion in 2024 (up 3.4% year on year), supporting one in 23 jobs (over 706,000 jobs) and 360,000 businesses.

With workforce demand across these sectors forecast to grow by nearly 150,000 by 2033, the $10 million site investment aims to connect jobseekers, employers and educators across these rapidly growing sectors and tackle long-standing workforce challenges.

Launched in partnership with Accommodation Australia, the new digital tool aims to attract, retain and train workers in travel, tourism and hospitality.

Federal Trade & Tourism Minister Don Farrell said: “The launch of eeger marks a pivotal moment for the industry, offering a national perspective for tourism, travel and hospitality job seekers to find the right opportunities and for employers to access the skilled workforce they need.”

“My first job was in tourism and I know firsthand how magnificent this industry is to be a part of. I encourage businesses and jobseekers to sign up and make the most of this innovative platform and join this vibrant and important sector,” he said.
