Viking is looking for an experienced marketer with a minimum of five years’ experience to work within their integrated marketing department, responsible for supporting the development and execution of email strategies that increase customer acquisition, engagement, retention, satisfaction, and revenue.

Reporting to the Senior Email Marketing Manager, this position requires a strong understanding of customer behaviour to support effective targeting and content strategies to optimise the customer journey through developing automated email programs and managing customer segmentation using Adobe Email products.

Your responsibilities will include:

EDM’s
  • Work with the Senior Email Marketing Manager on the development and execution of the consumer email strategy, including maintaining a campaign calendar that is in line with overall marketing strategies and content plan
  • Plan, build and schedule email campaigns in Adobe Journey Optimizer and/or Oracle Responsys Marketing Cloud, including automation, personalisation of messaging, segmentation and timing selection
  • Assist in developing a content plan and building workflows for re-targeting and automated email programs that engage and motivate consumers
  • Produce copy and creative assets for email campaigns in collaboration with communications manager and graphic designer
  • Assist in optimising existing email templates, fix bugs in HTML codes, and assist in building new templates to suit different campaign messaging
  • Analysis and reporting on email performance and campaign/program success
  • Identify opportunities for testing and process improvement to enhance campaign performance
Segmentation
  • Work with the Senior Email Marketing Manager to fully leverage the customer profile data in Adobe to develop email content that is targeted for specific customer segments and customer journeys
  • Assist in reviewing audience segmentation regularly to ensure that email programs are running correctly and are targeted to the right audience
  • Work with the creative team to create copy and content that is tailored to specific audience segments, customer behaviours and levels of engagement
  • Work with the Senior Email Marketing Manager and Director of Strategy & Insights to undertake regular survey/research of various database segments
Database
  • Assist in ensuring that new external leads from competitions, brochure requests and other sources are added to the email database
  • Support the marketing leads in developing and executing a strategy to build and expand the customer database
  • Plan and manage monthly database competitions
  • Work with the Data and Reporting Team for ad hoc passenger and booking reports for effective segmentation

What you’ll need to apply:

Essential
  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Minimum 5 years’ work experience in an email marketing role with demonstrated success in creating high-impact, unique marketing campaigns
  • Experience in using Adobe Email products particularly Adobe Journey Optimiser or similar marketing tool that leverages customer journeys
  • Experience in optimising HTML code and content for both mobile and desktop environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong copywriting skills with proven experience writing creative and engaging content
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a team
  • Well organised with the ability to multitask and work to multiple deadlines
  • Takes ownership of projects from start to completion
  • Must enjoy a fast-paced work environment and be able to adapt quickly to business needs
  • Attention to detail ensuring accuracy
  • Shows initiative and comes forward with new ideas
  • Self-motivated with a desire to continually learn and grow
  • A demonstrated strong work ethic with a can-do attitude
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in Microsoft Office
Desirable
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Cloud: InDesign and Photoshop
  • Familiarity with project management software such as Monday.com or similar
  • Understanding of the travel industry
