Think about it: where better to feel renewed and alive than somewhere filled with vibrancy, colour, flavour, and beauty? And South Korea has an abundance of it all!

The team at the Korea Tourism Organization Sydney will share South Korea’s magic with you across three exciting virtual events happening this November.

Take a Virtual Korean Cooking Class

Kimchi Pancake

If there was ever a time to wish for something from the future to be here now (or by the 18th November at least), it’s for olfactory television. Who wouldn’t want to whiff the incredible flavours of Korean food in this Experience the World of Soju and Cook Korean Food online event?

Over an hour, you’ll learn how to make Soju cocktails (it’s a floral, dry alcoholic beverage), followed by learning all the steps and ingredients needed to cook delicious kimchi pancakes (yum!).

And guess what? If you sign up for this event, there’s a good chance you’ll walk away with more than a kimchi recipe under your belt.

Why? Because 100 randomly selected attendees will procure one of 100 gift packs up for grabs.

Yes, we’ll write it out: ONE HUNDRED gift packs, including 50 gift packs of two bottles of Soju and another 50 kimchi pancake meal kit gift packs. Woop!

There’ll also be a live quiz about South Korea where the most attentive attendees could nab a $100 or $50 gift card! BRB, we’re off to swot up on South Korea.

Don’t want to wait for a taste of Korea? Watch this vid as the perfect appetizer to the 18th November main course.

Take a Virtual Adventure to Gangneung

Gangneung, South Korea

Gangneung, in eastern South Korea, is a stunning coastal city that has everything you need for adventure and exploration. Gangneung is a fave local getaway and has everything for the modern traveller. Pick the beach, the temples, the forest, or soak up Gangneung’s coffee culture (it’s one worth boasting about).

In the Korea Tourism Organization Sydney’s 1-hour virtual tour, you’ll join a local guide as they show you around Gangneung’s famous landmarks, local foods, and awe-inspiring scenery.

To add to your all-important travel agent arsenal, you’ll receive travel tips from the local guide – including the best shopping, restaurants, cafes, and photo spots – as well as having the opportunity to pitch a question of your own. Consider attending both an inspiration and an investment.

As well as having your destination questions answered, you may also walk away with one of the 10 Korean traditional fans up for grabs too.

Get a taster for the rhythm of Gangneung in this inspiring video.

Take a Virtual Beach Break at Haeundae Beach in Busan

Busan, South Korea

Travel escapism has been a perfectly valid tool for many of us as we’ve navigated lockdowns and state border closures. As an agent, escapism plus education is the ultimate win-win situation. Which is why you won’t want to miss the virtual fam tour to Haeundae Beach in Busan.

Led by a local guide, you’ll tap into the Busan vibe (it’s both hip and chill) and witness the famous 1.5 km stretch of sand of Haeundae Beach change hues as the sun sets.

You’ll be introduced to the traditional Haeundae market (including the best secret street foods eats), walk the trails of Dongbaek Island, and learn about traditional Korean childhood games – including the everyone’s-talking-about-it on-trend Squid Game!

By night, you’ll tour the shore as the Haeundae skyline buildings and Gwangan Bridge light up brilliantly, and get a taste (figuratively) of chimaek – deep-fried Korean chicken that’s traditional accompanied by a cool glass of beer.

This is a forget-all-your-worries event, so sign up and put the 23rd of November in your calendar.

For a lucky 10 randomly selected participants, you’ll also get a beautiful Busan flower-themed eco bag set. One whiff of these gorgeous products, and you’ll be whisked to South Korea in a flash.

Want to take a mini escape to Busan? Check out this newly released (and mega-popular) video. The modern R&B take on a traditional Korean sea shanty only adds to the take-us-there feels.
