When you can’t get an invite to the party, create your own – that must be the motto over at Flight Centre because it’s exactly what a group of Flighties did.
Some of those in Brisbane who missed out on attending this year’s Flight Centre Global Gathering proved you don’t need a ticket to the annual conference to have a ‘ball’, when they organised their own get together right here in Australia.
Adopting a similar theme to the annual conference in Hawaii, a group of employees from South Brisbane threw on their most tropical outfits for an epic Friday night bash.
Even the Flight Centre Captain got dolled up for the event.
In an email to KarryOn, one of the attendees said the event was dubbed the ‘Denied the Wave – Not Global Ball’ gathering and turned out to be great fun.
“Not as much fun as Hawaii, but we still had a great party.”

Meanwhile, over in Waikiki, some 3,000 Flight Centre employees were treated to some of the wildest parties and powerful talks from famous faces such as Bill Clinton – yeah, THE Bill Clinton as in a former US President!
There was also Glee’s Jane Lynch MCing the event while Duran Duran delivered a performance full of classic tracks.
