A 30-strong Aussie trade contingent will head to the inaugural GX World Community Tourism Summit held on World Tourism Day – 27 September 2023 – with a stellar lineup of speakers and performers presented by G Adventures and Planeterra.
More than 30 Aussie travel advisors and G Adventures staff and reps will join global suppliers, media, team members and travellers for GX Peru from 22 –27 September.
The multi-day celebration of travel will include exploring Peru’s highlights of Cusco, Machu Picchu and Sacred Valley; community engagement projects and a speaker series.
Keynote speakers include G Adventures and Planeterra Founder Bruce Poon Tip and Planeterra’s Jamie Sweeting alongside TV presenter Tysonn Mayr, eco-explorer Mario Rigby and global citizen Jessica Nabongo, the first black woman to travel to every country in the world.
A host of thought leaders, including suppliers, media and eco-tourism specialists, will also share insights at the World Community Tourism Summit.
The World Tourism Day event culminates with a dinner and gold-themed party celebrating Planeterra’s 20th anniversary at the ancient temple of Qorikancha and a grand finale performance by Village People.
Bruce Poon Tip said GX is a life-changing event for guests to see firsthand how community tourism can impact positive change at four community tourism enterprises developed with Planeterra.

“I can’t wait to show our community of communities just how transformative travel can be when it’s done right. Not just for local people, but also for our guests as they see what a pivotal role they play in empowering people working in the tourism sector.
