Wondering what to say to your clients right now in the midst of such anxiety and misinformation around coronavirus? Ivona Siniarska from 1000 Mile Travel Group wrote this beautiful piece for her clients and she wanted to share it with you all too.

Ivona works as a Travel Expert for 1000 Mile Travel Group in Melbourne and manages a host of corporate and leisure clients.

Like many of you out there right now, Ivona is being bombarded daily with questions and disruptive travel changes from concerned clients.

So to help spread a positive message a lot quicker, Ivona decided to write a letter from the heart to her clients.

Read on for some inspiration.

My dearest travellers,

I want to acknowledge and thank everyone who has contacted me to ask questions about their upcoming trips. As you know, I’m always here for support.

I’d also like to take this opportunity to discuss the current situation with regards to coronavirus (COVID-19) and travel planning.

With each passing day, there are new developments related to this worldwide outbreak, and not knowing what’s next is leading many of us to act more cautiously than usual.

My thoughts are with those individuals who have already been affected by COVID-19 as well as my travellers whose plans have been disrupted and those of you unsure about proceeding with upcoming travels.

While there are still many unknowns about this outbreak, as travel agents, it is our duty to be ambassadors of facts and ensure we relay correct information as it becomes available to us. I have great confidence that the travel industry will remain united in mitigating risks and distress through education and communication with each other and our travellers.

I believe that it’s important to not let fear dictate our lives, but we need to be resilient and educated. My top priority is, and always will be, the safety of my travellers. I am choosing to remain optimistic about the future and encourage you to do the same.

Please be assured that myself and my colleagues here at 1000 Mile Travel, as well in the industry as a whole, are closely monitoring these events as they unfold around the world.

As we receive information, we are relaying it to you immediately, however, given how quickly this situation is developing and fluctuating, there is no one answer we can give. This is why it’s important that you trust us to distribute information that may affect your travel plans as it’s made available to us.

While this current outbreak is concerning, the world is far too beautiful to be left unexplored, and life is meant to be spent well travelled.

Thank you for being such great travellers, supporters and friends, and being patient with my industry as we navigate through this.

I am always available for any questions or support, or to simply talk through your concerns. I continue to have faith in tourism, my colleagues, fellow travel agents, suppliers, and the industry as a whole.

We are all committed to seeing this through with you. Together we will be successful in persevering through these trying times.

Thank you for your trust in us.

Sincerely,

Ivona Siniarska
