Heroing members: ATIA launches ATAS Member Deals

The Australian Travel Industry Association (ATIA) wants to put the spotlight well and truly on ATAS-accredited businesses with the launch of new Member Deals.

The Australian Travel Industry Association (ATIA) wants to put the spotlight well and truly on ATAS-accredited businesses with the launch of new Member Deals.

Through the Member Deals platform, every ATAS-accredited business will enjoy at least one Deal Spotlight a year. ATIA says its priority is to highlight to consumers the “critical importance” of choosing an ATAS-accredited business when travelling, as consumer use of the ATAS website returns to pre-pandemic levels.

“Heroing members everywhere we can, including through one of our most powerful communication assets the ATAS website, is not new,” ATIA CEO Dean Long said.

“Consumers already rely heavily on atas.com.au to find accredited businesses to travel with.

“Already this year, 100,000 Australians have taken advantage of the website and as those visits climb back to the pre-Covid levels of 300,000-plus and beyond, we want to make it even more compelling with our Member Deals.

“For accredited businesses, Member Deals is a new direct sales channel and promotional opportunity for you.

“At the same time as promoting members in this way, we are reinforcing the core value of ATAS.”

ATIA says it has invested around $20 million to date in developing ATAS.

ATIA also recently announced the creation of an independent ATAS Advisory Committee, which represents the entire ATIA membership base independently of the association board.

In what it calls the biggest ever reform to Australia’s travel sector, the peak travel industry body rebranded to ATIA last week.

At the same time, ATIA announced it had opened up memberships to individuals at a cost of $10 a month.
