Viking is the world’s leading small-ship cruise operator setting the benchmark for excellence across river, ocean and expedition cruising and they are now looking for an accomplished marketer to join the team.

Working within the integrated Sydney-based marketing department, the successful applicant will be responsible for developing and owning the creation, execution and performance of cost-effective long and short term multi-channel consumer marketing strategies that increase brand awareness, exceed sales targets and grow market share.

  • A minimum of seven years’ experience and a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Previous consumer marketing experience in developing marketing strategies
  • Strong commercial outlook with an analytical mind, demonstrated problem-solving skills; always looking to improve
  • Extremely well-organised with strong project-management skills
  • Ability to multitask, work to multiple deadlines and competing priorities, in a fast-paced work environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong decision-making skills, taking ownership of projects from start to completion, not afraid to take initiative
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a team, motivate, manage and inspire
  • Competent at stakeholder management and communication
  • Attention to detail and can ensure the accuracy of campaigns implemented
  • Ability to manage and deliver to tight budgets
  • Self-motivated with a desire to continually learn and grow
  • A demonstrated strong work ethic with a can-do attitude
  • An understanding of the travel industry would also be beneficial

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the development of creative campaign concepts and sales offers securing relevant stakeholder buy-in
  • Manage the compilation of all campaign timelines, regular WIP meetings and coordination of the wider marketing team via project management tool Monday.com
  • Leading the marketing team in the execution of information sessions including development of marketing strategy, messaging, timelines, reporting and ongoing analysis and attribution
  • Ongoing analysis of sales data, consumer marketing trends and customer profiling insights including Experian’s Mosaic to inform and optimise all consumer marketing strategies, messaging and creative direction
  • Development and execution of a targeted ATL media advertising strategy ensuring effective targeting, creative rotation, accurate sales attribution and quality control as well as management of media agencies
  • Identifying and negotiating co-op marketing opportunities with relevant brand partners
  • Compile/conduct comprehensive call centre marketing briefings, draft and circulate internal comms
  • Short-form copywriting including brand and promotional messaging
  • Support Director of Strategy & Insights with the design and execution of all market research and benchmarking of target markets and competitor analysis
  • Project management of all direct mail, unsolicited maildrops and newspaper inserts including agency liaison, pagination, content and creative direction with graphic designers, timelines and approvals. Develop on-brand marketing collateral including print ads, direct mail, inserts, brochures, flyers, invites etc.
  • Working with wider marketing team to identify and implement data acquisition strategies to ensure constant growth of the consumer database
  • Working with digital lead to continually enhance Viking’s digital presence; driving online traffic to the company website for lead generation
  • Weekly reporting and attribution analysis along with budget management focusing on lowering CPA
  • Representing the Viking brand at industry events and expos
