About the role

If you’ve got the know-how and personality to step up and be ‘the face of California’ within the travel industry, then Gate 7 want to hear from you.

For this epic Visit California role, you’ll need to be comfy tackling all components of this varied and challenging role with gusto and charm. This includes agent training and presentations, event management, budget reconciliation and client liaison. Plus, fam coordination and the development and implementation of co-op campaigns. 

You also need to have a flair for juggling multiple projects simultaneously and unwavering attention to detail, particularly with numbers and budget management.

Most importantly, you must be a people person, able to forge and manage your relationships, and communicate effectively, adjusting the complexity level to suit your audience. You should also feel confident presenting to groups from four to 400.  

Enthusiasm for frequently travelling domestically and to New Zealand and California (whoop!) is a must, as a core focus of the role is on trade education and training. Expect a minimum of five trips per year. 

In this dreamy role, you’ll work within a boutique company of talented, dynamic professionals, reporting to the account director.

What you will need

  • Tertiary qualifications in marketing 
  • Minimum of 2-3 years in a sales or marketing role, ideally within the travel sector 
  • A well-established network of travel industry contacts. 
  • A passion for the experience of travel 
  • Familiarity with California and the US 

Scope of work

  • Primarily you will define and roll out an extensive sales and training program for the travel industry
  • Development of cooperative marketing programs 
  • Coordination and facilitation of familiarisation tours to California 
  • Organisation and coordination of trade show attendance and other B2B events
  • Budget planning and management 
  • Reporting and market analysis
