Hawai‘i Tourism Oceania (HTO) has wrapped a successful Month of Lei series of travel trade training and events in Australia and New Zealand, bringing the spirit of aloha Down Under.
The travel trade events fostered connection and training for local advisors with Hawaiian representatives from Kauaʻi Visitors Bureau, Oʻahu Visitors Bureau, Maui Visitors & Convention Bureau and Island of Hawaiʻi Visitors Bureau.
Hawaiian Airlines also shared its latest updates with prizes up for grabs at each roadshow.

Month of Lei is HTO’s signature campaign, designed to celebrate and highlight the rich cultural heritage and unique charm of each of the Hawaiian Islands to engage trade and consumers.

The campaign also taps into HTO’s responsible tourism initiatives, encouraging travellers to explore the Hawaiian Islands while promoting respect for the ʻaina (land), kai (ocean) and kamaʻāina (locals).

The Month of Lei events kicked off in NZ with a well-attended trade breakfast and destination training event in Auckland on 16 May, which attracted more than 30 travel agents, followed by a trade training event in Tauranga the next day.

In Australia, the travel trade events touched down on the Gold Coast on 20 May, followed by Newcastle and Adelaide, which featured both a travel trade lunch event and a dedicated evening session at Phil Hoffmann Travel Glenelg.
The Month of Lei roadshow also follows celebrations in May marking a 20-year milestone for Hawaiian Airlines flights from Sydney to Honolulu.
