itravel agent makes the big leap from mobile to brick-and-mortar store in 2024

Bowral-based itravel advisor Michelle Walsh has opened a physical store in the NSW Southern Highlands, making the transition from a successful mobile business to the owner of Cruise & Rail Travel.

Bowral-based itravel advisor Michelle Walsh has opened a physical store in the NSW Southern Highlands, making the transition from a successful mobile business to the owner of Cruise & Rail Travel.

Walsh’s move to a brick-and-mortar store was driven by her desire to establish boundaries between her personal and business life and offer in-person interactions.

“I wanted to create a space where guests could come in, immerse themselves in travel and enjoy a beautiful environment that reflects my passion for the industry,” she said.

“The young-at-heart generation often prefers face-to-face bookings due to scepticism about the internet. They seek reassurance that any issues will be handled for them and that’s exactly what we excel at.”

Walsh’s store vision was to create an inviting and inspiring space to book travel.

Her vision is to create a thriving hub of travel inspiration, expand her team, focus on sustainability and give back to her local community.

Walsh invites suppliers to visit her new store and looks forward to hosting events and fostering new partnerships in the new space.

“I’m stunned to be at this point. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do. I’m grateful for the encouragement from the itravel team and thrilled to see this dream become a reality,” she said.

itravel CEO Steve Labroski said: “With her extensive experience as a previous business owner and home-based mobile agent, Michelle is a highly respected member of the itravel network. We are thrilled to support and celebrate this milestone with her.”
