Last weekend, Brisvegas was treated to the stunning sight of ‘The Ten Travelling Tutus’ walking the streets in hot pink while amazingly raising over $5,000 as part of this year’s ‘Women’s walks for cancer.’

Led by the effervescent travel industry legend that is Kim(bo) Knight – aka Pink! from Viva Holidays, The energetic Ten Travelling Tutus were made up of fellow travel industry colleagues who set out on a 10km walk for ‘Women’s walks for cancer.’ in Brisbane.

Wanting to keep the spirit of travel alive, the Ten Travelling Tutus decided to turn the day into a ‘mini walk around the world’ as they took on a 10 km soirée through several fabulous international destinations.

In the words of Kimbo…

“We met up in Ascot (London) before waltzing along the River Thames for a wee bit. It was a tad windy and cold but after all, we were in London again – Hurrah!

“We arrived at Mica Brasserie (Paris) for a delicious French bakery treat, and then it was time for us to pirouette along the river Seine. We even succeeded in finding a very handsome Frenchman who happily pirouetted with us; his name was Matt, so not sure how French he was. We didn’t really care!

“Next, we boarded a beautiful Venetian Gondola (Brisbane City Cat) for a romantic ride to Bretts Wharf. After that, in a flurry of pinkness, we made our way to five Boroughs (New York) for a deli-style lunch before finishing up 10 km later back in Ascot (London) for some well-earned bubbles.”

All up, Kimbo and the Ten Travelling Tutus raised an amazing $5,300 and came 3rd in Queensland for the most funds raised for Women’s Walk For Cancer. They were only $300 off 2nd place.

Hot Shot Café very kindly donated the Tutus personalised T-Shirts in Geebung, one of Kimbo’s fave cafes as it’s open 24hrs a day, 7 days a week with “great coffee, great service and great people.”

They even included a ‘Karryon K’ on the back – outstanding job Tutus!

“We had a sensational day and I don’t think our spirits could have been lifted any higher. To each and everyone one of The Travelling Tutus – I love you all tutu much”

Massive kudos and congratulations to The Ten Travelling Tutus and especially to Kimbo Knight, who aside from organising the walk, has been undertaking her own walks and talks with industry colleagues in the name of support and reconnection in recent months.

This is what the spirit of Together In Travel is all about, and it’s simply wonderful to see people in the industry coming together for good and each other in so many ways.

After all, we need to reconnect now more than ever.
