Dear current and future industry partners,

There is no doubt 2020 has rocked us to our core and let’s be honest, there is still no clarity on what 2021 is going to deal out.

So, now more than ever, we need to band together. I wanted to therefore take a moment to give you a further update on Club Med and why Club Med should be your partner of choice to help you rebound faster, stronger, and bigger than before.

Club Med’s Global & Local Business Growth

As a global brand, Club Med entered the pandemic financially strong, delivering consistent YOY growth amounting to +€1.7 billion (A$2.7 billion) leading into 2020. Closer to home and in the 3 years leading up the 2020 pandemic,

the Pacific market achieved an annual growth rate in excess of 20%. During January and February 2020, the global portfolio continued to perform exceptionally strong, with a +8% increase in business volume compared to the first two months of 2019 and a profit up by over 20%, thanks to our upscale strategy and sales growth.

Club Med’s Investors & Group Financial Position

Club Med, with the support of our largest shareholder, Fosun Tourism Group, has assured our groups financial position remains very solid, with the addition of cash and cash equivalents equaling AUD 200 Million. This means, Club Med has more than enough cash to achieve continuous and accelerated development of the group’s business.

While Australia & New Zealand continue to feel the impact of the international travel ban, we are supported by global markets and resorts which have already proved resilient and have rebounded with exceptional results across all regionals of the world – The Americas, Europe & Asia all adapting to the current context and all experiencing high occupancy levels & extremely happy guests.

Club Med’s Continued Development Plans:

Club Med’s strategy to open multiple resorts annually has not been put on hold. We are still on track to open as follows:

Club Med’s Local Initiatives:

As a local market, the team and I are busy working behind the scenes to anticipate the impacts of the Federal Government Travel Ban announcement.

We continue to build an adaptive yet aggressive rebound plan and have also launched the following:

  • A new and flexible customer-first Peace of Mind Policy
  • A globally certified Safe Together program in our resorts, proving already successful
  • Created a new way to collaborate with our valued agents through the Club Med Connect platform
  • Continually finding ways to better recognise agents.

We know you have a choice when it comes to who you do business with, so we thank you for trusting Club Med. That’s why this letter is a reminder that we are not going anywhere, we are here for the long haul. So why not get in touch and see how the Club Med team can help you rebound and rebound strong!
