More, please! TravelManagers wraps up National Supplier Market Days

TravelManagers has concluded its National Supplier Market Days and Christmas lunches, with its last event taking place in Adelaide today.

TravelManagers has concluded its National Supplier Market Days and Christmas lunches, with its last event taking place in Adelaide today.

Held across Australian capital cities throughout November, the events brought together Personal Travel Managers (PTMs) and large numbers of suppliers, with seemingly great success.

Reflecting the demand for travel more broadly, demand for meetings between PTMs and suppliers was high during the Sydney event – and apparently the only appetite that couldn’t be entirely sated.

With four hours of formal meetings available during the marketplace, the nearly 50 PTMs and 50 suppliers present were left wanting more. But after a period as barren for travel as the pandemic was, that’s certainly a good problem to have.

Speaking to Karryon at its Sydney event, TravelManagers executive general manager Michael Gazal said he was extremely pleased with how the gatherings went.

With high-quality interactions taking place at every turn, sans time limits, Gazal said the event gave PTMs the opportunity to dive deeply into new products – and with so many being introduced to the market, this was exactly what travel advisors wanted, and needed.

Held on Monday at the Sydney Masonic Centre, the event also saw loads of prizes awarded, ranging from Hawaii accommodation to a Lego cruise ship and model airplane – and lots of bubbly (befitting the celebratory occasion).

Among the suppliers in attendance were wholesalers Journey Beyond, Entire Travel Group, Adventure World and Intrepid Travel, cruise lines Silversea Cruises, Viking Cruises, Aurora Expeditions and Royal Caribbean, Air New Zealand, Hong Kong Tourism Board and many more.

TravelManagers has been busy elsewhere of late too. It recently joined Signature Travel Network, with whom it linked earlier this year, for its annual conference in Las Vegas. As a result of this collaboration, it also had an introduction to selling space travel thanks to a new partnership with Space Perspective.

In October, the group was awarded Most Outstanding Mobile Advisor Network at the National Travel Industry Awards (NTIA).
