Aurora Expeditions has named Katie Malone as its Chief Marketing Officer, expanding the executive team as the cruise company continues growing internationally.

Based in Sydney, Malone will lead global marketing, focusing on brand strategy, boosting digital performance and lifting commercial outcomes across Aurora’s markets. Her appointment comes ahead of the cruise line’s third purpose-built small ship, Douglas Mawson, arriving in December 2025.

Malone brings over 20 years of senior marketing experience across travel, cruise, aviation and hospitality, holding leadership roles at Carnival Corporation, Marriott International, Jumeirah Group, Langham Hotels and Singapore Airlines in Australia, Hong Kong, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and New Zealand.

Most recently, she served as Marketing Director at P&O Carnival, spearheading its repositioning and overseeing the integration of the P&O Cruises fleet into Carnival’s global brand. She also led sustainability and branding initiatives such as the Responsible Luxury platform at Crystalbrook Collection.

At Aurora, Malone will collaborate with marketing and commercial teams to consolidate recent growth and drive forward strategy and campaigns.

“Katie’s deep expertise across global travel and hospitality, combined with her purpose-driven leadership, makes her a fantastic fit for Aurora,” Aurora Expeditions CEO Michael Heath said.

Malone said she feels “incredibly privileged to help shape the next chapter at Aurora Expeditions”.

“Joining a business that combines deep respect for our planet with truly life-transformative travel experiences is an opportunity to help shape not just how we market, but why,” she remarked.

“I’m proud to be part of a company, which exists to inspire, educate, and advocate for the protection and preservation of the world’s most wild places.”
