Beyond Travel has named Matt Symonds as its new Business Development Manager for NSW, ACT and Queensland, a move it says underscores the company’s focus on deepening ties with travel agents across the country. The appointment also marks the return of Beyond Travel representation since before the pandemic.
Symonds joins the team with nearly two decades of industry experience, including roles as a tour guide, skipper, and in travel sales and development.
It’s this mix of frontline and strategic experience that Beyond Travel believes will make him a valuable asset to its agent network.
“We’re thrilled to grow our wholesale presence, and Matt joining our sales team is a key part of that,” Beyond Travel CEO Michael Lavilles said of the company’s expansion.

“Having people on the ground connecting with our agents is vital – they’re the reason we’re here.
“We want to know what they like about us, what we could improve, and how we can support them better. Our team is excited to keep building these partnerships so we can grow together.”
In his new role, Matt will work directly with agents across the east coast to showcase how Beyond Travel’s curated product range can help grow their business.
He’ll also join forces with fellow BDM Sue Glatz, who covers the rest of the country, to ensure national support for the trade.
In addition, Symonds will work closely with Beyond Travel’s marketing and sales teams on broader growth plans.

Having visited over 50 countries, including Beyond Travel hotspots like Croatia, Poland and Sri Lanka, Matt brings both personal and professional insights to the role.
“I feel extremely grateful to be joining such a reputable, long-standing company,” Symonds said.
“It makes such a difference when you know your reservations team is so well respected for their knowledge and expertise.”
The appointment comes as part of a wider expansion phase, with several new hires joining the business in recent months.
