The Council of Australian Tour Operators (CATO) has announced Bunnik Tours Joint-CEO Dennis Bunnik was unanimously re-elected as CATO Chair for another two-year term along with the six nominees for four board positions ahead of the upcoming AGM.
In addition to Bunnik’s re-election, CATO has revealed the six board nominees, which include current members and some fresh faces.
The incumbent board members seeking re-election are Julie King (Founder & CEO of Julie King & Associates and Founder of Bonailie) and James O’Donnell (The Travel Corporation Australia’s Finance Director).

New candidates pursuing a board role in this year’s election are Ingrid Berthelsen (Evolution Travel Collective Joint CEO), Chad Carey (Chimu Adventures Managing Director), Martin Edwards (The Explorer Society Co-Founder & Chief Exploration Officer) and Yvette Thompson (Intrepid Travel Group General Manager Sales & Partnerships ANZ).
Intrepid Travel ANZ Managing Director Brett Mitchell will not return after a six-year term on the Board.
The results will be announced at the AGM on Tuesday 16 May 2023 after member voting closes on Friday 12 May.
