Australian hotelier Shaun Parsons will lead Fiji’s newest major hotel, the Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay Resort & Spa, into the marketplace – which will undoubtedly include a lot of Aussies.
The recently opened Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay Resort and Spa has promised much, as the first property in IHG Hotels & Resorts’ premium collection to open in Fiji and the largest in the South Pacific. IHG GM South Pacific Lachlan Walker said the property even had the making of another Denarau [Island], where most high-end hotels close to Nadi are currently located.
With two decades of global hospitality experience, Parsons plied his trade for nearly 15 years with Marriott International, most notably as General Manager at Le Meridien Dubai Complex, where he was responsible for the operation of Dubai’s iconic Le Meridien Dubai Hotel & Conference Centre, among other properties.
Elsewhere in the UAE, Parsons oversaw the extensive renovation of Le Royal Méridien Abu Dhabi including the total refurb of the property’s deluxe rooms and suites.
The Australian also spent several years at Hyatt Hotels & Resorts in the Asia Pacific region.
Most recently, Parsons held the role of General Manager at Crowne Plaza Adelaide.
“It’s fantastic to be opening Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay Resort & Spa, marking the arrival of the Crowne Plaza brand in the South Pacific,” Shaun told Karryon.
“I’ve loved working alongside our exceptional team here in Fiji as we move through the stages of our multi-million-dollar transformation; the team’s dedication to outstanding service and crafting unforgettable guest experiences is unmatched.
“We’ve been buoyed by the tremendous feedback from our guests already as they begin to experience the extensive facilities of the resort – particularly the diversity of restaurant and bar destinations and our larger-than-life family and adult pools now open, while the new accommodation wings of the resort will open later in the year, including two-bedroom family rooms and oceanfront suites.
“Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay Resort & Spa is exactly what today’s travellers are after and I’m honoured to be leading the team as we continue to redefine Fiji’s premium accommodation experience in Wailoaloa.”
The highly anticipated Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay Resort & Spa officially opened in March, with the completion of the first phase of its transformation and expansion.
