Movers + Shakers: Maria Brufatto hits the ground running at G Adventures in new trade-facing role

After years behind the desk selling G Adventures tours, Maria Brufatto is now on the other side of the brochure. The former Flight Centre consultant has been named Global Purpose Specialist (GPS) for New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory, taking her frontline know-how directly to the agents she once stood beside.

G Adventures has expanded its Australian sales team with the appointment, doubling down on face-to-face support in a region that’s showing strong trade momentum.

From frontline to field force

Brufatto built her travel chops at Flight Centre, where she worked in one of the group’s high-performing Mega Stores. Having sold G Adventures product from the retail side, she now steps into a supplier role armed with real-world insight and a well-worn passport.

“I’ve always been curious about other cultures and I also love to explore new places and learn from the people I meet there,” Brufatto said.

“Being part of an organisation that does so much in the way of community tourism is so exciting for me.”

Brufatto’s new gig sees her covering NSW and the ACT, where she’ll be hitting the pavement, meeting agents, and helping to connect more travellers with G Adventures’ brand of community tourism.

“I have sold G Adventures tours for a number of years and I can’t wait to share my knowledge and enthusiasm with agents across the region in this role,” Brufatto said.

Backing agents with real-world experience

“We’re thrilled to welcome Maria to the G family,” said G Adventures Sales Manager Matthew Drummond.

“Her frontline experience and passion for connecting people to purpose-driven travel make her an incredible fit for this role.

“I know she’s going to bring energy, creativity and deep product knowledge to the agents she works with.”

G Adventures says the hire reflects its ongoing investment in the Aussie trade, especially in regions seeing growth and engagement. It’s also part of a broader push to bring more retail travel experience into supplier-side roles, making agent support more relevant, grounded and immediate.
