Grafton Travel ushers in a new boss era with an in-house agency owner

Grafton Travel’s new owner-manager is none other than in-house travel expert and long-time advisor Louise Thompson who will take charge of the 75-year-old agency in the NSW Northern Rivers city.

A self-described “Grafton girl”, Thompson has worked at Grafton Travel, a member of Helloworld Travel, for 13 years, serving the local community’s travel needs for her entire agent career.

She succeeds previous owner-manager Bertalli who helmed the business for 17 years. In another milestone achievement, Grafton Travel has also operated continuously for more than 75 years with the same business name.

Bertalli said the agency is in expert hands with Thompson and is delighted to keep the business “in the family” and with someone who knows the community so well.

“I have complete faith in Louise and her standout abilities that will continue the long tradition of Grafton Travel as a successful and much-loved member of the business community,” he said.

As she ascends from advisor to agency boss, Thompson shared her excitement about the new ownership role.

“I am incredibly proud and excited to be taking the reins of this terrific agency. Corey and I have worked well together for a long time and it will be a wonderful partnership going forward,” she said.

Helloworld Travel Head of Branded & Associate Networks Nick Sutherland added: “Congratulations to Louise on her new ownership of Grafton Travel, a highly successful business with such a rich history. Also, to Corey, best wishes and congratulations on your successes in leading this business in the Grafton community for the past 17 years.”
