House of Travel (HOT), parent company of TravelManagers Australia, has named Judith Crompton as its new Chair and the first female in the role, replacing New Zealand-based David Coombes, who continues as Director of House of Travel Australia.
Crompton was appointed as a House of Travel Australia (HOTA) non-executive board member in late 2024. Her new role underlines the company’s strategic focus to strengthen its presence in Australia.
This direction extends across associated businesses, including Hoot Holidays and its in-house wholesale division, Fastbook, both of which play an integral role in House of Travel Australia’s broader offering.

TravelManagers CEO Joe Araullo said the appointment cements Crompton’s status as a highly valued HOTA asset and highlights her continued commitment to the company’s ongoing growth and innovation.

“We are confident that Judith’s new leadership position will play a major role in shaping TravelManagers’ and Hoot Holidays’ next phase of growth and ensuring that we remain strongly positioned for the future,” Araullo said.
“Having an Australia-based Chair enables us to better understand local opportunities, respond to industry shifts and ensures that our decision-making remains closely aligned with the needs of our personal travel manager network, partners and customers.”

Crompton said she is proud to become the first woman appointed as HOTA Chair: “an important milestone that signals a positive future for the leadership of our organisation”.
She paid tribute to TravelManagers’ and Hoot Holidays’ management team and her board colleagues.
“We are extremely well equipped to build on the company’s solid foundations to pursue the exciting opportunities that lie ahead,” Crompton said.
