Linkd Tourism has a new addition to its client account team, welcoming Mel Newton as Account Director at the tourism marketing and representation company.
Brisbane-based Newton joins from Flight Centre Travel Group, where she was most recently Flight Centre’s Global Publications & Marketing Merch Leader.
Before this, she worked as Global Merch & Collections Marketing Leader, overseeing marketing and merchandising across FCTG’s luxury, round-the-world and youth travel portfolios.
She has also held other global tourism marketing, product strategy and customer service positions at FCTG and Topdeck Travel and brings strong commercial insight and a passion for destination storytelling to her new role.

Effective immediately, Newton will work closely with clients and trade partners to support account management and destination marketing initiatives.
Linkd Tourism Managing Director Kylee Kay said the appointment follows recent client portfolio growth with new and expanded accounts, including Travel Portland, The Great American West and Okinawa, Japan.
“Mel’s experience within a leading global travel group and her strategic marketing background make her a valuable addition to the Linkd Tourism team,” Kay said.

“A number of recent new accounts and client remit expansion have seen a need for our business to grow. We are delighted to welcome Mel to the team.”
