Movers + Shakers: Gate 7 to amplify Explore’s presence in Australia

Taking its next step into the Aussie market, Explore Worldwide has announced the appointment of Gate 7 as its Australian PR agency.

Taking its next step into the Aussie market, Explore Worldwide has announced the appointment of Gate 7 as its Australian PR agency.

Explore, which established a direct presence in Australia for the first time earlier this year, is keen to build upon its footprint down under, particularly in the middle age (40-60 years) demographic.

And in tourism marketing agency Gate 7, the small group adventure travel company believes it has found the perfect partner.

“We are excited to appoint Gate 7 as our PR agency charged with growing our brand here in Australia,” Explore Worldwide Regional Director for Australia and New Zealand Ben Ittensohn said.

“Whilst their reputation speaks for itself, it was crucial for us to partner with an agency that’s equally passionate about our goals and ambitions for the market.

“Our trips provide unforgettable adventures and an immersive and fulfilling way to experience a destination; our partnership with Gate 7 will help to bring those to life, encouraging Aussies to book with us.”

A multi-award-winning company, Sydney-based Gate 7 also represents travel brands like Visit California, Brand USA and Rocky Mountaineer among a host of others.

Future growth looks “strong”

Gate 7 Managing Director Jo Palmer said the company was “delighted to be appointed by Explore as its PR agency”.

“With Aussies prioritising discretionary spending and keen to take time to bask in the enjoyment of travel, what better time to inspire them to check out an Explore itinerary,” Palmer remarked.

“We love Explore’s diverse offering and vast range of product for travellers to choose from, not to mention its leading sustainability credentials.

“It’s an exciting time for travel and the expected growth in small-group adventure travel is strong. We can’t wait to get started.”

The move comes soon after Explore added Kelly Bravey and Kyran Rose in two newly created sales roles to help boost the brand’s trade support and customer service in the region.

In operation for over four decades, Explore offers more than 350 trips across 100 countries, with a particular emphasis on cultural holidays and walking, trekking, and cycling tours.

It also has a strong focus on sustainable travel as evidenced by the carbon label placed on every one of its trips.

Among its adventure tours are:

During its January 2023 sale, the company experienced four of its five biggest sales days ever.
