Movers + Shakers: Lincoln Turvey joins FCTG as chief people and culture officer

Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG) has strengthened its global leadership ranks by announcing that Lincoln Turvey will take on the newly created role of chief people and culture officer.

Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG) has strengthened its global leadership ranks by announcing that Lincoln Turvey will take on the newly created role of chief people and culture officer.

In his new role, Turvey will be based in FCTGs global head office in Brisbane and will report to the company’s chief executive officer, “Skroo” Turner.

“People and culture are incredibly important areas, and we are delighted to welcome Lincoln on board,” Mr Turner said.

“He brings a depth of experience in contemporary people and culture practices, organisational transformation, and a familiarity working with a global reach. He has also operated as a senior people and culture leader for several years, developing and supporting the implementation of strategy.   

“Like FLT, Lincoln truly believes that people are a company’s greatest asset.  

“He is particularly passionate about the employee value proposition, employee experience and innovative future-focused talent management for the dual role they play in both a company and its people achieving their aspirations.

“We look forward to his contributions as we continue to invest in our people and build on the foundations that are in place in these areas,” said Turner.

Turvey’s career spans more than 25 years, during which time he has transitioned from his original field of environment and sustainability to people and culture.

He has spent most of his career with large multinational resources companies such as BHP, South32 and Thiess. More recently, Lincoln has worked with Virgin Australia and Uniting Care Queensland.   

“I’m excited to be joining FCTG and look forward to working closely with the company’s leaders and its people at all levels to help build engaged and high-performing teams,” he said.

FCTGs global workforce now includes more than 12,000 full-time employees In Australia/New Zealand, the Americas, Asia and Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

In Australia, the company says it aims to recruit up to 150 salespeople each month over the remainder of the fiscal year to meet current and anticipated future demand from travellers.
